Any mom can have a condition that would put her baby at risk for being born too soon or too small. When you answer a few questions on the Healthy Start Risk Screen at your first prenatal visit and at the hospital when your baby is born, you give your baby a better chance at a healthy start. When you say yes to Healthy Start, services can be provided to you in the comfort of your own home, at the Healthy Start program office in your county, or at another place of your choosing. You may qualify for services from Healthy Start no matter what your income level is. Participation is voluntary and you can stop services whenever you want.

Empowering Communities for Better Health .

At Chipola Healthy Start Coalition, we believe that every baby deserves the best possible beginning in life, and that starts with making sure every family in our community has the support they need. As a community-based nonprofit, we are focused on improving the health and well-being of pregnant women, their babies, and young children right here in the Florida Panhandle. As one of 32 coalitions across Florida established in 1991, we work hard to coordinate a system of care that ensures every woman has access to services that help her child grow and thrive. We show up for the whole family — not just moms. Our T.E.A.M. Dad program is built around making sure fathers feel prepared and supported too, with special events and a perks program that connects dads with the baby supplies and resources they need as they step into one of life’s most meaningful roles. We serve families across Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, and Washington counties, and we take that responsibility seriously — listening to our communities, conducting local assessments, and building thoughtful plans that direct the right services to the people who need them most. With board members who are rooted in the same communities we serve and strong partnerships with trusted local organizations, everything we do comes back to one simple truth: we are here to work with mothers, families, and the community to make sure every child thrives.
